In all honesty, there is a ton of care that goes into dealing with teeth! On the off chance that we are not cautious enough with how we care for our teeth, it can prompt a decrease in the well-being of our teeth and gums. We should begin taking great consideration of our teeth and rehearsing great oral cleanliness at an extremely youthful age. Along these lines, we are more averse to have dental intricacies as we get more seasoned. We needed to support you and your family by giving you 5 hints for your children to deal with their teeth! We trust you appreciate this blog and think that its helpful!

Tip 1: Consistently Brush and Floss

Consistently brushing and flossing is the most vital form of care that you and your children will need to do to take great care of your teeth. At a minimum, you should be brushing and flossing twice a day. We recommend brushing and flossing first thing in the morning and right before bed! To help your children brush correctly, we recommend playing their favorite song that is around two minutes or longer. We want to see that our little patients are brushing the correct amount of time, and we can make it fun by playing their favorite tunes!

Tip 2: Drink Water

Drinking water not only fuels the body, but it also washes our particles that get stuck in between our teeth and gums. It is always a better decision to choose water over soda or other forms of sugary drinks. Not only are sodas and juices filled with sugars that are bad for your teeth, but colored drinks can stain your teeth. We want our children to want to choose healthy choices over the apparent “fun and thrilling” choices. We recommend teaching children about why sodas and juices are bad for them.

Tip 3: Avoid High Sugar Foods

In tip 2, we talked about avoiding high sugar drinks, and we also want to try to avoid or limit the intake of high sugar foods. Our children are so important to us, so we want to make sure we are giving them the best foods to fuel their growing bodies. It is not a secret; children love sugary treats! There is nothing wrong with treating our children to treat now and then. However, it is dire that they are not eating them every day. We recommend making breakfast lunch and dinner plates fun! Bright colored foods like veggies and fruits not only attract your child’s eye, but they are good for them!

Tip 4: Get Comfortable With Going to the Dentist

It is very common for children to develop a fear of going to the dentist. There are many reasons why they find it scary. For example, dental tools look scary; their sounds look scary, and then having them be used in your mouth can be terrifying for a child. This is why we want to normalize dentists and going to the dentist. We can help our children get comfortable by educating them with shows, books, and even a simple discussion or pretend play. If it helps, allow your child to bring a comforting item, like a stuffed animal!

Tip 5: Visit the Dentist Regularly

Making regular trips to the dentist is very important for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Even at home, when we practice our oral hygiene, there could still be complications you may not even realize have developed. When your child goes to see their pediatric dentist, they will be given an examination and a cleaning.
