While the awareness of dandruff is at its all-time high, the issue of vision is rarely (if ever brought up). This causes people to damage their eyesight in most trivial ways and all of this could be avoided if someone was just to point out the proper course of action. Because of this, here are five tips that can significantly improve your eyesight.

Eat Healthier

One of the first things you may want to change in order to improve your vision is your diet. Every child knows that carrots improve eyesight. Why? Well, because they are rich in beta-carotene which helps the retina perform better. Still, carrots are not the only vision boosting vegetables you could resort to. Leafy greens, eggs, berries and citrus are also great for the overall health of your eye. Some of them improve function, while others fight off diseases like cataracts and macular degeneration. All in all, this is by far the easiest and probably the most effective method of improving your eyesight.

Maintain a Healthy Bodyweight

There is no doubt that obesity is one of the greatest plights of the 21st century. Seeing how it causes type 2 diabetes which can sometimes lead to a loss of sight, it is clear that it should be avoided at all costs. In order to achieve this, try to lead a more active lifestyle and eat healthier. Overall, this is more of a lifestyle change than a tip, but your eyesight is worth it.

Quit Smoking

Recent research connects smoking with macular degeneration, cataracts and even optic nerve damage. The greatest problem with this is that sometimes it takes years (even decades) for these changes to take place. Once it actually happens, people tend to be skeptical about the part that their unhealthy habits played in it and blame it all on genetics. Seeing how quitting smoking brings numerous other health benefits as well, it might be worth to try it out even if you don’t believe in its harmfulness for your eyesight.

Protect from UV Light
