Children received for ADHD Drugs Increasing

Before read the news, do you really know what is ADHD? ADHD is stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The disoder caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain that affects the parts controlling attention, concentration and impulsivity. A children with ADHD will have difficulty out all the information coming into his brain and easily being distracted.

According to a study from the Food and Drug Administration over the past 10 years , more kids and teens were given prescription for ADHD drugs. The study that being published in Pediatrics show that 263.6 million prescriptions were given for young patients. Over 10 years, rates for adult take the prescriptions increased to 22 percent.
The antibiotics was the most common prescribed drug before and the prescibing rates dropped by 14 percent for over 10 years.
Studies from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also found a 25 percent drop in antibiotics prescribed for colds, sore throat and others. It is good percent because WHO has warned that overuse of antibiotics may be deadly for common disease.
Others prescription such as pain pills , allergy medication and depresion also decrease.
Eventhough many prescription decreased but prescription for ADHD drug increased 46 percent from 2002-2012. The reason is more young women are not going on the pill and more adolescents are taking birth control for secondary conditions.
In 2010, the most freguently dispensed medication are amoxicillin antibiotic that being used for 0-23 months baby and children ages 2-11 years old.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of children diagnosed with ADHD increased from 4.4 million to 5 million between 2002 and 2010.
