Cheryl Cole help raise malaria awareness

A famous celebrity, Cheryl Cole has experienced four years ago when she was struck down by malaria after coming from Tanzania.
Now she is fully recovered and participate to bring attention to the devastating disease by joining Sport Relief.

In a short film to be shown during the Sport Relief Night of TV on BBCOne on 21 March, Ms Cole will draw attention to the crippling epidemic via footage shot in a hospital in eastern Uganda.

The objective of this program is to raise money to help save lives especially in Uganda. Ms Cole experience that the motivation lay in knowing the programme could help in eradicating malaria and ultimately saving lives by providing mosquito nets.
She didn’t think that after doing the programme that she get malaria and at one point was given 24 hours to live.

Malaria is preventable disease but thousands die from it globally due to a lack of medical supplies and basic resources like mosquito nets.
