What is Adenovirus ?

Adenovirus is another dangerous virus that can cause death. It is a frequent cause of acute upper respratory tract (URT) infection. It is a disease come from double stranded DNA virus. The virus will cause common cold and various other ailment. Infection could effect people and animals.

According to Wikipedia, “Adenovirus infections most commonly cause illness of the respiratory system; however, depending on the infecting serotype, they may also cause various other illnesses, such as gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis, cystitis, and rash illness. Symptoms of respiratory illness caused by adenovirus infection range from the common cold syndrome to pneumonia, croup, and bronchitis.

“Patients with compromised immune systems are especially susceptible to severe complications of adenovirus infection. Acute respiratory disease (ARD), first recognized among military recruits during World War II, can be caused by adenovirus infections during conditions of crowding and stress.”

It often infects the airways which effect patient that get ‘cold’ such as sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, headache, cough and chills. The patient which get croup or bronchistis also could infect from adenovirus. The patitent will ill about 3-5 days but serious infection could last more than a weeks. Some type of adenovirus can cause skin rash, conjuctivitis, bladder infections or bowel infections.
This disease could infect to all type of people but most of them re mild. The symptoms develop from 2 -141 days after the patient get expose to virus. Adenovirus could spread easily through contact with droplets from the nose and throat of the infected person. It also can infect through eating or touching the eyes, nose or mouth. Drink from contaminated water source also can spread the virus.

I’ve search many source but none of them take this disease as danger. Maybe the disease get evolution and can cause death now..
