scale-weight

“How to lose weight?” has to be one of the most discussed questions in recent human history. And yet, the answer is so simple – you have to burn more calories than you take in. The reason why so much people have problems achieving this important goal is because they look at calorie-burning like some hard and painful labour, so they are, from the start, feeling discouraged. The truth is that every activity burns a certain number of calories. Here are some of the most exciting ones.

Badminton

Badminton is probably the most underappreciated sport. It’ very casual, fun, engaging, and you can play it literarily anywhere. It is also worth mentioning that, unlike its cousin – tennis, badminton requires much more affordable equipment. The rules are not that hard to grasp, and the intensity levels are very low, so you can enjoy badminton with your family. Don’t make the common mistake of underestimating this sport, though. You will sweat. A lot.

Dance!

Humans are, by nature, social. Is there any better way to satisfy this aspect of your personality than by throwing a dance party with your friends? Dancing involves a lot of movement and, therefore, burns a lot of calories. Even if you are not good at it, you can always get a good laugh while trying. On the other hand, if you want to become a serious dancer, you can always sign up for dance lessons and try to master this ancient art.

Clean Your House

When we say clean your house, we’re not just talking about vacuuming or dusting. We’re talking about a complete makeover. Just think about all the windows you have to clean, carpets you have to beat, floors you have to polish… That involves a lot of effort. The jury is still out on how exciting this actually is, but if you invite a couple of friends, and play some good music, you will get a really good time out of it.

Make Your Social Outings Active

Having a lot of friends is great. What’s not so great is that meeting those friends usually involves gallons of coffee and hours upon hours of sitting in some bar. Put an end to this bad habit and make your social outings active. Instead of drinking coffee, take a walk in a park. Instead of sitting in a bar, take your friends to picnic outside the town. If anything, at least convince your friends to move to another bar, preferably the one that is not so close to you all, so you at least get the opportunity to stretch your legs.

Start Playing Soccer

Although soccer never found a strong foothold stateside, it is hard to deny that this sport is very fun when you actually step on the playing field. Besides, soccer involves constant movement and a lot of running. You would be hard pressed to find a professional player who’s not ripped. So, find some affordable soccer training equipment, go to the nearest field and give the most popular sport in the world a try.

Challenge Your Friend

Rivalry is a very strong motivator. So, find some friend who is also trying to lose and start competing – who will do it faster? Make bets, set time limits, see who’s going to run faster, swim further, and lose more pounds. Do whatever you need to spice things up and turn something, you would otherwise consider a chore, into a fun and competitive game.
