A healthy, glowing skin can really turn heads. Contrary to the belief of many people, maintaining the health quotient of the skin does not require one to be really fussy about following elaborate health care routine. You can follow a regular, simple routine to bring that natural blush to your cheeks, and make your skin look younger, tighter, and fitter. In the present discourse, we present a list of handy skin care strategies for people from either sex:

  • Wash your face two to three times every day – No matter how busy you might be, you need to take time out to wash your face properly 2 or 3 times a day. Avoid using soaps with strong chemicals for the purpose, and use a good-quality face wash instead. Using warm water can also help in unclogging the blocked pores of your face skin.
  • Apply astringents, moisturisers and skin toners – Use clean pieces of cotton to apply astringents and mild moisturisers on your skin. Make sure that the skin care schedule that you are adopting includes taking care of the arms and the legs as well. If you need to use a skin toner, get one after a consultation with a qualified skin specialist.
  • Eat healthy and drink plenty of water – Start saying no to fatty food items, and opt for vitamin C-rich meals instead. Lean meat and fresh, green vegetables are practically ‘must-have’ items in your diet, if you wish to have a healthy skin. Have fruit juices on a regular basis, rather than the colas and sodas that you might have been fond of earlier. Drink adequate amounts of water every day.
  • Use sunscreen lotions with the right SPF – Skin care services should also include avoiding direct exposure of the skin to harsh sunrays. Select sunscreen lotions of the correct SPF on your face, arms and shoulders (if left bare), before you step outdoors during the day. It might look just a tad old-fashioned, but carrying an umbrella is also recommended, to stay safe from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
  • Do not smoke and/or drink – Heavy smoking and/or drinking generally results in premature ageing of the skin. The stock of skin collagen, oxygen and other important nutrients take a beating – if you are in the habit of having a puff at frequent intervals. Give up these unhealthy habits, and win back that elasticity and radiant beauty of your skin!
  • Do not look stressed out – If your mind is bogged out regarding something – that definitely shows on your face. Do away with regular mental stress levels, by meditating everyday for at least half an hour. You can also do some light exercises, to keep yourself fitter. If you are not really into physical activities – curl up with a good book after returning from office. Indirect as it might seem, such methods of relaxing can make your skin look healthier!
  • Never pick at pimples and blackheads – Every teenager has that frustrating spell in life, when pimples and blackheads make a regular appearance on their faces. If you are also experiencing such troubles, kindly refrain from picking at them with toothpicks, pen refills and any other such sharp objects. Rather, use sandalwood paste and/or other natural face packs, to slowly bring down such acne and pimple attacks. Remember, skin care products do not yield overnight results – you need to have a modicum of patience!
  • Shave carefully – Okay, this one is a ‘men’s only’ skin care tip. Do not be careless, or rush unduly, while shaving. You can suffer cuts on your face, and the scar marks might prove to be difficult to remove. Of course, deeper cuts can become fatal as well. Have a smooth, close shave – and keep your skin absolutely unmarked!

If rashes and/or boils of any type have made an unwelcome appearance on your skin, get in touch with a knowledgeable skin health care service expert as soon as possible or contact some care service provider. Always use well-known, branded skin care products. No fashionable outfits and smart dresses can make you look good if your skin sports a dull, unhealthy appearance – and you need to stay aware of this fact!
