Staying hydrated

We always knew that drinking plenty of water is a great way to stay fit and healthy. However, people today are more aware of this and those who want to stay fit carry their water bottles everywhere. Of course, drinking “plenty” of water really does sound confusing. Actually, the amount of H20 you should drink every day in order to stay in good shape depends on your weight. An average person needs 8 eight-ounce glasses a day but if you’re carrying some extra weight, you might actually need more. A simple math equation is to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water. So if you weight 180 in pounds, you’ll need around 90 ounces of water per day.

Taking brisk after-meal walks

Taking a brisk walk from time to time is another great way to maintain your figure. And this is especially the case when you go for after-meal walks. Just a 30-minute walk can help you settle a full stomach and rest your mind. And even though some people would have you believe that taking a walk every single day can be daunting, this isn’t really the truth. There are numerous ways to make your walks more fun. For example, you can make a habit of taking the whole family for a stroll around the neighborhood after large meals. Another great way to do this is to get a dog and take them for a walk every day after dinner.

Riding a bike

Who says you have to go everywhere by car? If you don’t have a bike, make sure you get one and staying fit will be much easier. If you work close to your home, riding a bike instead of driving a car will help you avoid the traffic and maintain your figure. Not only that, but riding a bike can actually strengthen your heart and increase your lung capacity. On the other hand, if you have excess weight, riding a bike to your work might be quite tiring. In that case, getting a Butchers and Bicycles e-bike might be a great idea. You can ride this little thing when going shopping and lose weight while doing so.

Taking stairs

Elevators and escalators sure are great inventions. But if you spend hours and hours in your office, you should always take every opportunity to get your body moving. And in that case, avoiding things such as elevators and escalators sure is a good idea. The next time you’re in a mall, take a closer look at the people who are in good shape, and you’ll see that most of them only take stairs. Of course, there are many other reasons for taking the stairs besides maintaining your figure. Using the stairs can actually help you improve your cardiovascular strength and reduce the risk of a stroke. Moreover, you’ll never have to hear that horrible elevator music again.

Follow all of the trends listed above and staying in good shape should be a real piece of cake. And not only that you won’t have to go that extra mile in order to look good, but you also won’t have to consider going under the knife, not even for a second.
