Heavy Coffee Intake May Affect Fertility Treatment

Are you coffee lovers? There a new study shows that drinking more than five cups coffee per day may cut half a woman’s chance of successful in vitro fertilization treatment. The level of caffeine consumption on the body reduces the chance for vitro fertilization by 40 percent. The researchers from Denmark found that effect of more than five cup of coffee per day are similar to effect of smoking.

The research has been conduct by Fertility Clinic at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. Their research found an apparent association between coffee consumption and the success of fertility treatment. The research has been used nearly 4,000 women undergoing IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatment for infertility. The data was collected from the beginning of the treatment and at the start of each additional round of treatment.

The study focus on the ability for the women to get pregnant and impact from others factor such as age, alcohol consumption, smoking habits, body weight and cause of infertility. Based on the result, one of the finding is about relation of women that drinking more than five cups of coffee daily.

Based on their research, they found that the pregnant women who consumption less than five cup coffee do not have any effect. The finding will be representing on this Tuesday at the annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Istanbul, Turkey.

It is not good news for coffee lover. But don’t worry, you still can drink coffee but in the small amount.  Don’t take more than 5 cup per day and don’t put much coffee or sugar in your drink. You may stay healthy .

  1. better you stop drink coffee during period..
    there’s some medication to prevent nausea but I think it is better to get advice from your local doctor.
