1.    Supplement are not risk free

–       FDA has suspects most supplement problem never get attention. A powerful supplement rarely a powerful lifesaving effect. In last year, the agency noted 7 reports of serious health problems regarding consumer took supplement by Indo Pharma of the Dominican Republic. 2.  Some supplement are prescription drugs

–       Many dietary supplements are related with prescription drugs which will become threat to consumer healthy. There’s many product have been recalled especially product for bodybuilding, sexual enhancement and weight loss. Some of the supplement contained synthetic steroids. FDA has found that strokes, kidney failure, acute liver injury and death associated with drug-tainted supplements show the dangers of vitamins and supplement.

3.   Overdose on vitamins and mineral

Some of the supplement doesn’t have any instruction. There’s many cases people get overdose after take the vitamins. They don’t know that taking too much vitamins could affect their body.

4.    Can’t depend on label

–       Some of supplement makers can provide warning labels but consumer still doesn’t know. Supplements that contain iron can make a fatal poisoning in children or accidental overdosing.

5.   Unproven to cure major disease

Many supplement claims that their product can diagnose, cure, treat and prevent a disease. But neither of them can really proved that their product could do that.

6.  Buy with caution from botanicas

We always heard supplement take from medicinal plants and other artifacts for physical and spiritual healing.  Consumer Report has make some shopping trip to several area botanicals and found many mystery herbs. It also show none volunteered relevant facts about possible side effect occur when a herb is taken with a medication. They also investigate and found that the supply chain used by some of the stores not follow the standards.

7. Heart and cancer protection are not proved

There’s many product claims using the supplement could reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. Recent evidence doubt on whether Omega-3 pills and antioxidants are as safe or effective as assumed.

Take calcium supplement also not really good. Researchers from German and Swiss found that regular users of calcium supplement had an 86 percent increased heart attack risk compared with those who didn’t use it.

8.  Pills can irritate the esophagus

Taking pills could irritate the esophagus and cause a muscle spasm or get physically stuck or slowed. The sufferer will feels like choking.

9.  Some natural product are not really nature

Most of vitamins come as a synthetic and not from nature. It need to perform activity of vitamins. FDA has sent warning to 10 manufacturers and distributors because they touted their product as natural stimulant. From the investigation, the product lacked safety evidence.

10. You don’t need to get vitamins through supplement.  All Vitamins you can get from food or environment. Why waste your money to get healthy?
